Buckfast Abby

Nestled in the shadow of Dartmoor, in a beautiful wooded valley beside the river Dart, Buckfast Abbey offers visitors a tranquil refuge from the hectic pace of everyday life. The Abbey is a working monastery where a community of Benedictine monks live self-sufficiently, welcoming visitors from all around the world. The visitor area provides an enriching experience that includes a detailed history of Buckfast Abbey with animations, film and interactive models.

InteractUn Limited worked with Fraser Randall and Met Studio to design and manufacture two simple hands on interactives for young children to engage with parents in making a mosaic floor puzzle and a light box plinth to create a stained glass window. The floor puzzle was an image of the complex mosaic pattern at the altar, parts were interchangeable so the challenge was to pay attention the details of the pattern to ensure the floor was completed correctly.
